Multiple Copies for Book Clubs

Save time by having multiple copies of your club’s book selection delivered to the Barrington Area Library.

Here’s how:
1. Designate a contact person for your group, who will place your order by phone,
online, or at the Adult Services Reference Desk at least four weeks before you want to start reading the book. For best results, place your order as far in advance as possible.

2. Include the following information with your request:

  • Title and author of the book
  • Number of copies needed
  • Date of the book club meeting
  • Name of the book club
  • Name and phone number of a contact person

3. The books will arrive approximately four weeks before your book club meeting. When the books are available for checkout, the library will call the your group’s contact person.

4. Your books will be held at the Circulation Desk under the name of your book club.

5. Book club members may keep the books for five weeks. Members are responsible for returning the books on time or paying extended use charges.

Multiple copies of books are available to book clubs if they are at least six months old, not current best sellers, and not on reserve at other libraries. Occasionally, the library is unable to fill a request. If this occurs, we will work with your book club to find an alternate title.
