Countries: How to Find Country Information
Research Materials at the Barrington Area Library:
Books to Check Out:
The best way to find books about your country
is to perform a Subject Keyword search in the
library catalog. Choose "Subject Keyword" from the drop-down
menu. Type the name of your country along with the words "Juvenile
Literature" in the search box and then click "Go" to see your search
results. A librarian is always happy to help you find the books
you need.

Start by clicking the "Geography & Cultures

your country from a drop-down menu on the following page to access a list
of articles about it. The best article about your country is
usually one of the first three and always says "Junior Worldmark
Encyclopedia of the Nations" next to the country
name. The search results will also
include magazine and newspaper articles with
information about current events in your country. Look at the bottom
of each article for help with your bibliography.
World
Book Online has articles on each
country. Start by typing your country’s name in the box and
clicking "Go." The main article about your country is usually the first
article on the white side. Look at the bottom of each article for help
with your bibliography.
SIRS
Discoverer has facts and articles from
encyclopedias and children’s magazines about each
country, searchable by reading level.
