Black Tie by Bruno Vanoudenhove: Art Exhibit of Chicago and Barrington Landmarks

May 10, 2010

The current exhibit at the Barrington Area Library is a display of instantly recognizable images and places:  Buckingham Fountain, Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, The Chicago Theater and the Barrington Area Library itself. The exhibit consists of black and white photorealistic paintings by Bruno Vanoudenhove. The public is invited to meet the artist and see his work at an artist’s reception Friday, May 14, 7 pm.

Vanoudenhove, born in Belgium, is now a Barrington resident, and it is Barrington where he began a career as a freelance architectural photographer. He attended both drawing and painting workshops locally at Harper College. His exhibit at the Barrington Area Library includes 23 of his paintings depicting landmarks and architecture in the area. His work will be on display at the Barrington Area Library through June 19.

In addition to the artist’s reception, the public can also attend an artist demonstration where Vanoudenhove will show how he creates his paintings from his photographs. The artist demonstration will be Thursday, May 20 at 7 pm and is open to adults and young adults. Registration is required for the artist demonstration. Register online at www.BALibrary.org.
