A variety of computer, Internet, printing and scanning options are available at the Barrington Area Library.
The Media Lab is available for two-hour time slots for Barrington Area cardholders. Read all about it.
Desktop Internet computers are available for one hour time slots. You can find Internet workstations on the first and second floors. Want to be sure a computer is ready for you when you come to the library? Use our online PC Reservation system. Reservations are for the current day only.
The library also offers 15 minute Internet Express stations, so you can send a quick email or check a Web site without signing up for a computer.
Laptop computers with wi-fi capabilities are available for use by Barrington Area Library cardholders and reciprocal borrowers within the library. Borrow a laptop from the Adult Services Reference Desk.
Laptops may be checked out for three hours with 1 renewal. A $2.00/hour extended use charge, divisible by the quarter hour applies to usage over the check-out time. Time will be automatically determined by the library's online circulation system.
The patron will be charged the replacement cost of any missing or damaged parts. The replacement cost of the item will be charged if it is not returned by closing time on the date borrowed, if it is lost, or if it is damaged beyond repair.
Free wireless Internet service (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the library.
Scanning/Printing services: Our Scan Stations use touchscreen technology for super-fast, super-simple scanning to PDF, Word, HTML or PDF formats, with options to save, email, or print. You'll find Scan Stations in our first floor computer area and in Youth Services on the second floor. Did you know?: many companies/organizations that request a fax will also accept scanned documents via email.
Need to print? We have printers for all our Internet computers. Want to print at the library from your wireless laptop or even from your home computer? Use our Web Printing Service. Get all the details and set up your print requests.
