My Stroke of Insight
Author
Jill Bolte Taylor
Review
Jill Taylor suffered a stroke at 37, and writes brilliantly about the terrible day, and the months following her event. Her perspective as a brain anatomist and expert is especialy compelling and poignant, and her fight to regain her memory, speech and academic expertise is both noble and humble. A remarkable book, great for anyone caring for a stroke victim.

Hand of Evil
Author
J.A. Jance
Review
Third in the Ali Reynolds series. The second one I didn't love, the first one I did, and the third one made up for the second one. Hand of Evil, third in the series, is really great. J.A. Jance in usually a 2-3 day read for me, always a page turner. Her mysteries keeps you on the edge, I always learn something new going on the world from her books (I think this must be how she gets the ideas for her books), and as with the Joanna Brady series also by Jance, I'm really getting drawn into the main character of this series, Ali Reynolds. Good read.
