Library Seeks to Partner With Local Businesses for Library Card Month

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. The Barrington Area Library is once again seeking partners in the local business community for its annual National Library Card Sign-Up Month promotion.

To participate, businesses need to create an incentive - a percentage discount, a "buy one, get one" deal, or another special offer made available exclusively to customers who show a valid Barrington Area Library card. The offer must be valid from September 1-30, 2013. That's all there is to it. The library benefits because your offer will encourage people to sign up for a library card. Your business will benefit as new customers come in for the incentive. The library will also feature your business: in its e-newsletter, on a printed brochure about the promotion, on in-house digital display screens and community posters. Your business will also be part of a "Thank You" message in the library's Winter print and e-mail "Check It Out" newsletters.

Want to promote the library while promoting your business? It's simple! Just fill out this PDF application. Save it to your computer and attach the completed form to an email sent to Emily Kornak, Business Services Librarian, or Karen McBride, Public Information Manager. You will receive an email confirmation from us with more details. Posters and brochures will be available near the end of August. To help us meet our printing deadline, please send in your application no later than Friday, August 23, 2013.
